PARXET

PARXET

This delightful old cellar is situated in the smart seaside town of Tiana, some 20 minutes north of Barcelona in one of Spain’s smallest DOs – Alella.

This is a region divided in two by an imposing mountain range that runs down the middle and Parxet’s 200 hectares of vineyards, which represent well over half the DO, are in the more Atlantic interior. The grape varieties here are Macabeo, Parellada, the indigenous Pansa Blanca (a cousin of the Xarel-lo, widely grown in Penedès), together with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; the winery is in Santa María de Martorelles with picturesque Tiana the ageing cellars and HQ.

The most popular export style is Signat, produced from the fruit of younger vineyards acquired since Ramón Raventós  took over the helm.
